War is an instinct born in animals, but after entering civilized society, it will only become a bargaining chip for politicians, causing civilians to suffer endless torture. From these two extremes, the giant lizard that represents the victims of war for revenge and the terrible devil that represents war itself will fight to the death as enemies. Who can truly end this war?

Before we begin…

There aren't many things available to both of them. GMK Godzilla only has one solo movie and maybe a few guidebooks associated with it. Yoru and Mitaka are simple, they naturally only have the CSM manga.

Background

Yoru

Asa Mitaka is an ordinary high school girl. Her parents were killed by demons when she was young, so she hates any demons, but what she doesn't know is that a demon is about to possess her.

 

Because of school violence, she accidentally angered the class monitor who was the "justice devil". Justice killed her classmates and also killed her...

 

But that was before she was resurrected by the female demon who called herself "Yoru". Yoru controlled her body and became her second personality, forcing her to go to school, the same school as the chainsaw man Denji. In order to fight the chainsaw man, Yoru collected various weapons, forced her to turn the people around her into weapons, and promised to return her body as long as she defeated the chainsaw man.

 

Yet, what Yoru does not anticipate is the deep, internal struggle that comes with sharing a body with Asa. Unlike Yoru’s cold, calculated mind, Asa is filled with complex emotions—pain, guilt, loneliness, and a desire to belong. Over time, Yoru’s relationship with Asa becomes more than just one of control; it becomes a strange, often antagonistic partnership. Yoru, for all her cruelty, cannot entirely suppress Asa’s humanity, and in moments of quiet, she is forced to confront emotions she had long buried. Asa’s innocence and moral compass challenge Yoru’s ruthless pragmatism, creating an unexpected tension between them.

 

Beyond Asa, Yoru’s encounters with other devils and humans stir her already fragile pride. The Chainsaw Devil, in particular, becomes an object of obsession. Yoru sees him as a threat—someone who embodies destruction in a way that undermines her own identity. She believes that if she can defeat him, it will restore her status and fear across the world. This rivalry fuels much of Yoru’s drive, pushing her to take increasingly desperate and reckless actions.

 

In her pursuit of power, Yoru begins to develop a peculiar relationship with the people she manipulates. Though she views them as mere tools, the longer she stays in the human world, the more these connections unsettle her. Humans, with all their flaws and fears, perplex Yoru in ways she had not anticipated. They are weak, yet resilient; fearful, yet capable of extraordinary bravery.

 

As the story unfolds, Yoru’s desire for domination remains, but the lines between war and peace, power and vulnerability, begin to blur. Through her bond with Asa and her interactions with others, Yoru is forced to reckon with a side of herself she had long suppressed—a side that is not only about conflict but about survival, adaptation, and perhaps, even change.

 

Godzilla

In 1954, Godzilla first landed in Japan. 47 years later, he disappeared. On an ordinary day, the Japanese Self-Defense Force submarine was ordered to salvage a sunken American warship, but found the wreckage of Godzilla and the glowing dorsal fin.

 

The next day, Yuri, one of the reporters of the newspaper that hypes funny news, came to the village with myths and legends to shoot materials, but the local village chief shouted at them to stop shooting. At this time, an earthquake happened, but it did not last long. After just a few seconds, Yuri persuaded the village chief to continue shooting. She turned around happily and saw a mysterious old man in the woods, but in a blink of an eye, he disappeared.

 

That night, a group of bad youths on motorcycles passed by the village, rushing all the way, accidentally knocked down the statue, and in an instant, the ground shook, they saw huge teeth, eyes and red skin, and the mysterious old man kept muttering "Godzilla". Yuri wanted to continue the investigation, but was stopped by his boss for deviating from the core of the program.

 

On the second night, the group of bad youths were found by a guard dog while robbing a convenience store. They picked up the statues on the roadside and wanted to drown the dog, but there was a terrible disturbance in the lake. The next day, they died on the spot.

Then, Yuri, who decided to investigate the matter, called his good friend Takeda, who brought an ancient book on the three guardian monsters of the country - Mothra, King Ghidorah and Baragon. After meeting the mysterious old man, Yuri looked for information and finally found a photo of Godzilla landing 50 years ago.

 

But it was too late. While Yuri was investigating, a person who committed suicide by hanging fell accidentally, causing the king of monsters under the ice to wake up. The awakened Godzilla wreaked havoc in Japan and killed anyone he saw. The three guardian monsters fought with Godzilla to protect the city, but fell one after another. First Baragon, then King Ghidorah, and finally Mothra.

 

Before Mothra was dying, she transferred her power to Ghidorah. The newly born Ghidorah fought fiercely with Godzilla and finally drove Godzilla into the sea. Yuri's father, a member of the Self-Defense Force, saw Godzilla was wounded and drove a submarine to pursue him.

 

When launching a missile, he did not expect Godzilla to use Ghidorah as a human shield to block it. The seriously injured Ghidorah flew out of the water and fired lightning at Godzilla, but all the energy was absorbed, and then he was killed by the breath that merged into his own energy.

 

The three monsters still did not completely fail. Their remaining power sank Godzilla into the sea, and Yuri's father sacrificed himself and guided a missile into Godzilla's body. The explosion from the inside out killed Godzilla and blew him to pieces. Everything was finally over.

Yoru

Yoru’s combat experience and skills make her one of the most dangerous devils in the Chainsaw Man universe. Especially her life span which exceeds human history. She combines a deep understanding of warfare, psychological manipulation, weapon creation, and close-quarters combat to create a well-rounded and nearly unstoppable fighter. Her tactical mindset ensures that she doesn’t just rely on brute strength but carefully calculates her moves to achieve the greatest possible advantage in any situation. Whether she’s facing human or devil, Yoru is a fearsome warrior whose very existence revolves around conflict.

Godzilla

Godzilla first landed in Japan in 1954. We don't know how many battles he has experienced, nor do we know what opponents he has fought besides the three monsters, but he still shows a certain combat IQ, such as using Ghidorah as a meat shield to block incoming missiles.

As  war devil, Yoru has the ability to turn any item at hand into a weapon, including:

Tanaka Spinal Cord Sword

A long crooked sword that the War Devil created using Tanaka's head and spinal cord that is ripped out of his body.The blade is sharp enough to easily cut through Devil-enhanced flesh with ease.

 

Flesh Hand Grenade

 A hand grenade that the War Devil created using the arm from the contracted Class President.And it is shown that it is able to detonate like a normal grenade

 

Yuko Leg Sword

A katana-like blade made from one of Yuko's legs that were severed by the Devil Hunter Club, it presumably lacked unique abilities due to Yoru's lack of guilt, but it never managed to be used.

 

Left Tank Gauntlet

A tank-themed arm gauntlet formed from the Tank Devil after it arrived to help Yoru fight back against the rampaging Chainsaw Devil. Yoru is capable of firing off bullets using the gauntlet.

 

Right Gun Gauntlet

A gun-themed arm gauntlet formed from the Gun Devil during Yoru's rematch against the rampaging Chainsaw Devil. Like with the Left Tank Gauntlet, Yoru can fire bullets that are strong enough to pierce through the Chainsaw Devil's body and tear off some of his arms.

 

Pencil Spear

 A wooden spear made from a school pencil. This weapon changes form with each pencil, some are three-pronged spears approximately two meters long, others a meter long spear with four smaller spikes along the side. This weapon is sharp enough to easily kill a human, although Yoru calls them weak weapons.

 

Ruler Sword

A sword made by a measuring ruler found in Asa's backpack. It is a rectangular shaped sword approximately one meter long with a hole at its base for a handle.

Scalpel Sword : A sword made from a nearby scalpel Yoru uses when she battled Quanxi. It is a curve-shaped sword resembling a larger scalpel.

 

Soap Sword

A soap-themed sword made from a soap bar. Yoru formed this weapon by bringing a soap bar towards her telekinetically.

 

Straw Knife

A knife made from a discarded straw that Yoru attempted to use to slice off Denji's penis. It resembles a switchblade, although in some panels it resembles that of a combat knife.

Sushi Sword: A sushi-themed sword made from a sushi dish. Yoru used this blade in an attempt to strike Pochita from above when confronting him alongside Katana Man but it proved useless against the might of the Chainsaw Devil.

 

Gun Goddess

After sacrificing the index fingers of approximately 40,000 of the National Pistol Association of America's 3.5 million members, Yoru transforms the Statue of Liberty into a grotesque crowned creature holding a rifle capable of firing giant bullets in the shape of severed fingers. This creature was able to destroy buildings and severely damage the Chainsaw Devil at Yoru's command (presumably killing hundreds of lives with the bullet fired across the world), but not enough to affect a devil equal to a Primal Fear.

The demons in Chainsaw Man are creatures born from fear of a specific concept, and what makes Devils powerful is the degree to which their names are feared by humans. Therefore, if your name is feared by many people, you will become powerful, but the opposite will be true if your name is barely feared, such as the chicken Devil who was crushed to death by the tripping Asa. Bonuses in this way increase all attributes, including speed, like the gun demon. Yoru represents humanity's fear of war, and these fears give Yoru super strength, speed, and durability.

 

All demons have the ability to heal by sucking blood, and even a little blood can regrow lost limbs. Demons can also be resurrected from death if they are given blood immediately after death.

 

If a demon is killed in our world, they will be reborn in Hell. If they die in Hell, they will lose their previous memories and be reborn in our world, a never-ending cycle.

When the human soldiers rushed into his body with missiles in a suicidal act, he could do nothing. His internal tissues and organs are far more fragile than his skin, causing the explosion inside him to blow him to pieces.

tFrom here, it's clear that Yoru gets a triple stat advantage. Godzilla's biggest attack comes from his white-hot beam sweeping across Shizumu City, which is 8e+14 watts, but Yoru is clearly hundreds of times more powerful than him through Gun Devil.

 

The best speed feat we can find for Goji throughout the movie is extended to Ghidorah’s Mach 14, a nice number, but we have to remember that Godzilla is almost impossible to hit Mothra, a target much faster than Ghidorah, requiring a specific opportunity for her to be unable to dodge in order to hit, and Yoru happens to get a speed similar to or even higher than Mothra from Gun Devil, which means that Goji has a hard time hitting her, and her smaller size than Mothra also makes it even harder to lock on to her, which is definitely a tricky fight for Goji.

 

Speaking of defense, Goji's feat of not buying any military weapons can definitely withstand most of War Devil's weapons - except for one, the fucking giant gun transformed by Gun devil, which is far more powerful than the missiles that blow it to pieces from the inside and his breath. With just the right time, Yoru can get into Goji's body and do the same thing; even if Goji can burn Yoru's limbs with his breath, hitting her, as mentioned above, is difficult, considering that she also gains defense from Gun devil's feat, and a few lucky hits won't make much difference in the battle.

Speaking of abilities, Goji's indestructible skin and wide-ranging breath are definitely a tough challenge for Yoru, but it has obvious weaknesses - yes, the body mentioned many times, its interior is much more fragile than the skin, and ordinary humans can also carry missiles into his body and blow him up. It's hard not to imagine Yoru doing the same thing.

 

Although Yoru can't heal herself immediately, Goji's huge size means that she can cut flesh from his body at any time to heal herself, giving her the endurance that Goji doesn't have in this battle - because in this movie Goji has never been injured before being blown up, and has never shown the ability to heal immediately after his body was cut up.

To summarize, Goji has the range to negate most of Yoru's weapons, but Yoru has unique abilities that target the giant lizard's weaknesses and traits.

We don't know how many battles Godzilla has fought, but he and Yoru are both monsters that have existed in parallel with human history, but Godzilla spends most of his time in a dormant state and doesn't show as many fighting skills as Yoru, such as swordsmanship, gunmanship, and trap setting; Yoru and Asa's split personality is indeed a factor that has a great impact on the battle, especially Godzilla's huge size may scare Asa at first, but they have shown their ability to stand together in the face of danger many times, so this is not a big problem. At least in this movie, Godzilla has never dealt with an opponent smaller than him, but as strong as him, on the other hand, Yoru has, so the skills and experience should belong to her.
